Petra Noordkamp (Losser, 1967) lives and works in Amsterdam. She studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and graduated in 2000 at the department of photography. Since then her work has been published in magazines such as The Purple Journal, San Rocco, Club Donny, Avenue, Mister Motley and NRC Handelsblad. She also worked on commission for publishers, magazines and newspapers such as Volkskrant Magazine, Rails and NRC Focus. She has participated in several group exhibitions and in 2005 her series Watching Men appeared on billboards in Amsterdam. In 2012 she made her first short film La Madre, il figlio e l’architetto (The mother, the son and the architect) which was on shown in an exhibition of her work in the photography museum Foam. Her work explores the influence of experiences, memories, movies and dreams on the perception of architecture and the urban environment.
