Paris à l'Aube
Paris à l’Aube is Johan van der Keuken’s first film and already a means by which to escape the discipline and rules of the Paris film academy where he attended. Together with James Blue, Van der Keuken filmed a number of shots early in the morning, which eventually yielded a ten-minute city symphony, a poetic view of Paris as it awakes. Meanwhile, Paris à l’Aube is also an experiment with the colours of Paris at daybreak and an investigation of the interaction between image, music and rhythm.
